* Everyone today is feeling the financial crunch due to the slowdown in our economy, well out of all this comes a little silver lining.  The oil price bubble finally burst and we are seeing a decline in fuel prices and as a result for the time being I am willing to cut my prices.  I am also willing to haggle a little bit because I know you all still want to go and I want to take you!

March 9, 2010

Spring is right around the corner! With it comes the hope of a new prosperous fishing season but it also brings a lot of questions.  What is going to happen with the new groundfish regulations? What about the bluefin tuna that we have grown to love? Will a CITES listing dash all of our hopes of ever retaining another tuna? What about Obama's Ocean Policy Taskforce? Are we going to be able to even fish on Stellwagen or Jeffries in the near future.  You can plainly see that the writing could be on the wall and it will only take the flick of a presidential pen to end a lot of our pasttimes that we are passionate about!

I for one will not stand for any individual who attempts to take my right as a sportsman away from me! I hope you all, no matter what you political background, can understand what potentially this could mean to the entire recreational and commercial fisheries in our ocean and Great lakes.

On a happier note we welcomed Avery Marie Amorello in this world on January 25, 2010.  She weighed 8.6 pounds and was just shy of being a keeper cod at 21 inches...sshhh we are keeping her anyway.  So sleepless nights and long work days have kept me from the boat but do not fret we will be ready to go for May 1 this season.  I am taking my time this spring to catch up on some long awaited maintenace and cosmetic issues in which I need some nice weather to accomplish.

Booking are not what they should be so far this year but that does not mean anything.  Hopefully a little bit of sunshine and warm weather will get the phone ringing and the pelagic fish swimming our direction! Good Luck to everyone this season!
